How much tax do I have to pay on a succession?

Inheritance tax was abolished in Portugal in November 2003 (Decree-law n.º 287/2003, of 12.11.2003). However, assets acquired via a succession are subject to the “Selo” tax, except in the case of the spouse, children or father and mother of the deceased.
